from the EBBS Committee The EBBS Committee met in Paris in March and welcomed new members Anna Grabowska, from Poland and Catherine Thinus-Blanc, who is a member of the LOC for the forthcoming AGM in Marseille. Several important decisions were made. Martine Ammassari-Teule named Acting Secretary Susan Sara, who has served as Secretary for the past five years, had earlier expressed her desire to step down as soon as a replacement could be found. The President, in accordance with Rule 13a, named Committee member Martine Ammassari-Teule acting secretary ; she will take over the secretary’s responsibilities in May. The Committee gave its unanimous approval to the new appointment and invited the present secretary to serve as a co-opted member of the committee in order to aid in the transition. The election of a new secretary is scheduled to take place in 2002. Professor
Jacques Paillard nominated as an honoray member The Committee has nominated Jacques Paillard to join the list of distinguished honorary members of EBBS, including M. Mishkin, L. Weiskrantz, B. Milner and J. Bures. In accordance with the Rules, the candidate must be elected by EBBS members at the AGM. This election will take place in Marseille, where Professor Jan Bures will also be installed as an honorary member. Professor Bures was elected at the Rome AGM, but could not attend the investiture celebration. 2003
in Barcelona! Professor Ignacio Morgado presented a very attractive proposal for Barcelona as the venue of the 2003 EBBS AGM and the committee enthusiastically agreed. Ignacio Morgado will head an energetic young local organising committee, joined by Committee member Carmen Sandi. They have already started making plans and you will be hearing more about this as things develop. |
