FENS Update
The FENS council met in Milano in September 11-12, 2000. Included on the Agenda were election of Treasurer, Schools committee Chair and Programme committee for the FENS 2002 meeting. The EBBS Candidate for Schools Committee chair, Giorgio Innocenti was elected.  Fernando Lopez-da Silva was elected chair of the programme committee and two EBBS members, Susan Sara and K-P Hoffman were among the 9 elected to the committee.

Mike Stewart reported that the Brighton FENS meeting, besides being a scientific success, made a substantial financial profit.

Dominique Poulain, chair of the Local  Organising committee for the Paris in 2002 meeting, reported on progress and plans for a full scientific, social and cultural programme. Up-to-date details can be found on the Web site http//:fens2002.bordeaux.inserm.fr

The Council chose Lisbon as the 2004 venue for the FENS meeting. It will be hosted by the Portuguese Neurocience Society with the participation of the Spanish Neurocience Society.
