Dear Member of EBBS

April

This is to inform you that:

Call for SfN slot application    EXTENDED to April 27 !!!!!!  23-04-08

Society sponsored Abstract Slots for the SfN Annual Meeting 2008 - Call for Application

FENS is happy to announce that, again, for 2008 FENS was appointed as the sole distributor for slots for entire Europe.

For the past several years the Society for Neuroscience has provided FENS with a number of unique ID numbers (called “slots”) which allowed some of the FENS members who are not also members of SfN to submit abstracts to the SfN annual meeting and register for the meeting at the member rate. The total number of slots that FENS can distribute in 2008 is 419.

As in the past, FENS will distribute these slots on a first come – first served basis, but also observing geographical distribution and the size of societies.
  • Application for a slot will be possible via the FENS website from April 9 through April 23, 2008.
  • Only FENS members can apply for a slot. The system will automatically check your FENS membership status.
  • The slot is non-transferable i.e. the slot-holder him/herself only is entitled to submit an abstract as first author.
  • In order to be eligible for registration at the SfN member rate, you must submit an abstract.
  • You will be required to pay a $85 abstract submission fee to SfN.
  • Submission of an abstract does not automatically register you for the meeting, you must still register and pay to attend Neuroscience 2008.

Slot application opens on April 9, 2008, 0.00 a.m. CEST

The deadline for application is April 23, 2008., 0.00 a.m. CEST

For application please connect to:

http://fens.org/sfn-slots/application.php

Please note that in the past you may have been able to register at the member rate without submitting an abstract; however, under the recent policy in order to be eligible for registration at the SfN member rate, you must submit an abstract.

We will inform you whether you receive a slot on Monday, April 28, 2008 and provide you with all necessary information on how to use the slot.

All the best,
Melly Oitzl
Treasurer of EBBS
