Dear Member of EBBS

April
12, 2007
This is to inform you that:

1. The deadline for abstract submission (EBBS AGM,  15-19 September, Trieste, Italy) has been extended to April 30. We kindly ask you not to submit your abstract on the last available day in order to avoid the website being blocked.

Also, you will find below the information to apply for SfN slots via the FENS website. Please, note that only the members that paid their EBBS fee for year 2007 have their name downloaded on the FENS directory and can therefore apply for SfN slots.

Best regards,

Martine Ammassari-Teule

Secretary of EBBS

2. Call for SfN slot application

In the past, the Society for Neuroscience has provided FENS with a number of unique ID numbers (called "slots") which allowed some of the FENS members who are not also members of SfN to submit an abstract to the SfN meeting and register for the meeting at the member rate.

We are happy to let you know that the SfN renewed this offer for 2007 and FENS was again appointed as the unique distributor for slots for entire Europe. As in the past, FENS will distribute these slots on a first come - first served basis, but also observing geographical distribution, the size of societies etc.

Please note:

Only FENS members can apply for a slot.

Students and postdoctoral candidates only are eligible to apply (no age limit).

The slot is not transmittable i.e. the slot-holder him/herself only is entitled to submit an abstract as first author.

In order to be eligible for registration at the SfN member rate, you must submit an abstract.

You will be required to pay a $75 abstract submission fee.

Submission of an abstract does not automatically register you for the meeting, you must still register and pay to attend Neuroscience 2007.

Slot Application via the FENS website opens: Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 10:00 a.m. CEST

Slot Application closes:

Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 8:00 p.m. CEST

We will inform you whether you receive a slot on Monday, April 30, 2007 and provide you with all necessary information on how to use the slot.

All the best,
Martine Ammassari-Teule
Secretary of EBBS
