DUBLIN
2005: 37
th Annual
General Meeting of EBBS The
37th Annual General Meeting of the EBBS will be held in Trinity College
Dublin (http://www.tcd.ie/).
Trinity
is Ireland's oldest University, founded in 1592, and possesses the
unusual and quaint legal name: ' The Provost Fellows and Scholars of the
College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Queen Elizabeth near
Dublin'. It is a beautiful campus, consisting of a mix of old College
squares and newer buildings, contained within an island site within the
center of Dublin
(http://www.dublin.ie/;

is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city of about 1 million people, stretched
along a rather beautiful bay; it is a very old city, with archaeological
remains dating back several thousand years; it is most famous for its
Georgian period architecture andmany beautiful Georgian squares (http://www.irish-architecture.com/buildings_ireland/dublin/). Dublin
and Ireland are easily accessed by air
(http://www.dublin-airport.com/)
and sea
(there are cheap ferry services to Dublin and Rosslare from the UK and
France). Visit

for many
useful transport links and other information). Dublin is a destination
for very many low fares airlines; it also has many reasonable priced
hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. Information on these options will be
posted on the TCIN website in the coming months. Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience (TCIN) was founded as a virtual institute in 2000; the physical institute is now under construction with an expected completion date of August 2004 (http://www.trinityneuroscience.com/). The
new institute will house state of the art laboratories and technologies,
including high-field strength human brain imaging and neurogenetics.
TCIN has an interdisciplinary research and teaching ethos; its mission
is captured in the phrase 'from molecules to mind', emphasising a vision
stretching across differing levels of investigation of brain function. |
